When starting a business of what ever kind, large or small, there is a always a require framework or scaffolding that you have to set up. Not only does this make your business much more effective, but it also saves you from a lot of embarrassing and costly problems. Here is your framework:

1. Business Name. Choose an appropriate name that sums up what your business stands for. It has to be unique – try and ensure that a suitable domain name is also available as you will probably want a web site as well. The owner of an established web site might cause problems if you give your brick based business the same name – so be careful in your choice.

2. Your Business Entity. Obtain professional advice as whether to the best way to set up your business as a limited company, partnership etc. Then register your company.

3. Patents and Trademarks. If you have unique products then you need to ensure that you have registered your patents before your start trading. Similarly any product names, mottos, selling tags etc should be trademarked. Take professional advice on how to do this.

4. Licenses and Permits. Ensure that you have all the licenses and permits that you are legally required to have.

5. Insurance. You may think that you don’t need this but you do and will. So take out property, business, vehicle liability, staff and disaster insurance. A good broker can advise you.

6. Taxes. A necessary evil I am afraid. Register with your local tax collector. Set up a good accounting system and hire a good accountant.

7. Employment Laws. Establish what you local employment laws are and ensure that you adhere to them. Set up employee guidelines and handbooks. Make sure you hire and fire legally.

8. Banking. Visit your local banks and find the best business bank account and credit card for you business. Always keep your business and personal spending separate.

9. Business Plan. This is your carefully written plan on how you want your company to operate, what you want to sell, where and to whom. It includes your business and marketing strategy as well as your financial standing and projections. This is the foundation of your business.

10. Liquid Cash. Ensure that you have enough money to carry your through the first few months of your business as well as any foreseeable troublesome times ahead.

When you start up your business, remember to tick off the 10 items above and you will have a very sound start to your business.

Things to keep in mind when you buy <b>scaffolding</b> | Your Local News

24. Jan, 2011

We all know that safety is the number one priority that we need to ensure it’s there when we will delve into doing almost anything that has some risks involved. This is the same thing that you will need to consider when you will use a Scaffold tower. You should know that when you will be up there on one, you will need to be careful on how you will maneuver different things, so that you will not be in the danger of falling off of it.

If your scaffolding is not really comfortable for your standards and on top of that it also wobbles, then you will need to make sure that you get a new one as soon as possible, as it is just a matter of time until something will go wrong.

And this is why getting new scaffolding is imperative, for toying with your own life is a game that you never have to play. There are a lot of types of scaffolding that you can consider and you will most of the times find them on the internet, but you can also check your city’s stores for it. Yet on the web, everything is cheaper.

When you will surf for Stillads scaffolding, check the materials that it is made of. Aluminum is the best choice that you can make and you should not regard steel, as it is heavier and thus harder to move around. Plastic is not a good choice for it gets brittle in time and doesn’t offer you the protection you need.

If you are looking for the best stilladsudlejning, you will need to delve into some good research. There are many brands on the market that you can consider and some stores will also offer you free shipping, which saves you some money.

Remember that if you do not feel safe while you are on your scaffolding, then just get another type of it, for it is just a matter of time until things will go wrong.

0.4 Release: setting up the <b>scaffolding</b>

The first scheduled release of my project sundae.js for OSD700 will be released for Sunday January 30. In case this is your first time reading my blog, my project is a automated testing framework designed to test WebGL dependencies and functionality in addition to YOUR library using those very WebGL functionalities, that is sundae.js.

0.4

There are main 3 goals for the first major release of sundae.js:

Re-factor framework

The original outline of the project was largely taken from processing.js's developer tools reference tester. However as the scope of my project expanded a similar change had to be reflected in the way the code was designed. In order to facilitate this change the old reference tester has to be ripped into key sections, The test building process has to be clearly defined:

Select the testsLoad the tests dependenciesBuild test div and canvasesLoad test into canvasLoad know good into canvasBlur both canvasesPixel by pixel compare each canvasGenerate test result into canvasLoad next test Compile results

What needs to be learned for this process is how to dynamically load Javascript libraries, and then a method of how to recognize when a dependency is already loaded.

Define API

As the project expands a clearly defined programming interface is necessary to maintain workflow. This design needs to have scalability at the forefront of the decision making process. We know each test case should be treated as its own object, an example of what to expect would be: dependencies, known good, error message, test. Additional standards will be that tests will load into a canvas as will their respective last known good result, from there the rest of the test process is built in.

Define test case structure

The thought process behind this goal is to allow for an easy to implement and expandable way to get your test cases working with sundae as fast as possible. The goal is to use a JSON object structured by my API design to clearly define everything optional and required for each test. Further additions include characterize tests by a directory structure. An obvious skill gap of JSON methodology will need to be bridged, however the benefits will be far reaching.

That is everything set up for the 0.4 release of sundae.js!

Council aiming to buy Harborne Clock Tower <b>scaffolding</b> as rent <b>...</b>

The cost to Birmingham City Council of hiring scaffolding to protect Harborne Clock Tower has topped £700,000 in six months.

Harborne Clock Tower surrounded by scaffolding

With no sign of anyone wanting to purchase the crumbling building, the council is now trying to buy the scaffolding which it is renting for £12,151 a week.

The 130-year-old clock tower was used for adult education classes and has been closed since July 2010 after a survey revealed it was structurally unsafe due to the council’s failure to undertake maintenance and repairs over many years.

Dangerous items of masonry have been removed in recent weeks and a decision has been taken to keep the scaffolding in place to protect the public.

The cost of protecting the clock tower, which is being met from the education budget, has angered community activists, who are questioning whether it is necessary to spend so much money on scaffolding at a time when public services are facing huge financial cuts.

The Edgbaston constituency committee is conducting a consultation exercise into the future of the historic building and there are hopes that it may be bought by a local charity, renovated, and eventually brought back into use as a community centre.

But it emerged at a city council meeting last week that the local authority is yet to put the building on the market.

Adults and communities cabinet member Sue Anderson said the clock tower had been declared surplus to requirements, but she gave no indication of how long the scaffolding would have to remain in place or the likely total cost to the public purse.

Coun Anderson (Lib Dem Sheldon) added: “Assuming there is no internal council interest in appropriating the premises it is intended to bring the building to the open market.

“It is expected that any offers received will be subject to some form of conditionality, for example a planning consent, and therefore it will take a period of time to complete a disposal.

“Based on this situation, the directorate is progressing the purchase of the scaffolding and a report is being presented to this month’s cabinet committee.”

Money raised from selling the building will be ploughed back into the adult education budget, Coun Anderson promised.

Harborne resident Harry Takhar, founder of the Impact Party, described the £700,000 cost of the scaffolding as “scandalous”.

How To Use <b>Scaffolding</b> Safely — Relationship Marketing - Ladder of <b>...</b>

Scaffolding is erected on construction sites, and is the temporary structure that is set up make it possible for construction workers to get to the top areas of a new building. The erection of scaffolding is a highly specialised thing and ought to always be made by a qualified professional. There are contractors who specialise only in putting up scaffolding, and will be hired to work on construction sites.

Because scaffolding can reach extremely high, and is only a temporary structure, it is essential that all safety risks are taken into consideration before it is assembled.

One of the primary things which should be checked is the ground where the scaffolding will be erected. In cold climates, extreme care should be taken that the ground for the scaffolding foundation isn’t frozen. If it is, and then starts to melt, then you will have to be worried about the scaffolding sinking. The primary focus is to have the most stable ground possible for the foundation of the scaffolding.

It is extremely essential that the scaffolding is level. As the scaffolding grows and gets taller, it is important that it is checked regularly by a qualified professional to make sure that it is level. It is crucial that the scaffolding be supported on adjustable stands, and if it is rolling scaffold that all the castors are locked securely.

It is imperative that all scaffolding platforms are complete from front to back and with both sides meeting. Any gaps in the wood mustn’t be bigger than 25mm wide as a gap wider than this may allow tools to slip through. All open sides of the scaffolding platform must be equipped with toe boards and guardrails. Use of the scaffolding should be safe for the worker, with ladders placed in such a way that the worker won’t have to climb over cross bracing.

It is crucial that the front of the scaffolding is at least 14 inches from the front of the building that is being worked on. You don’t want your scaffolding to lean against the building, as this makes it less of a support.

If anything, employee safety is an essential thing in relation to scaffolding. Hard hats must be worn at all times by anyone working around or on the scaffolding. Employees shouldn’t be designed to work on the scaffolding in bad weather conditions, like heavy wind or snow. All employees utilising the scaffolding should have been given full training on how to use it properly. People should not be allowed to remain on the scaffolding whilst it is being moved, if it is rolling scaffold. All tools must be removed off the scaffolding at night and any heavy tools that are needed must be sent up and down the scaffolding with a hoist.

As you can tell, there are various points to remember when it comes to scaffolding. Using scaffolding incorrectly can be very dangerous, and life threatening to the people utilising it and around it. It is necessary that all these safety measures are followed strictly, and that scaffolding is always constructed by a qualified person.

China Wakes: Bamboo <b>scaffolding</b>, the ultimate culture shock

The one thing that really jumped out at me within minutes of stepping off the train the night I arrived in Hong Kong on my recent visit was the bamboo scaffolding.

Perhaps its because I am the son, grandson and great-grandson of contractors. Or maybe its because I spent my summers during high school building steel staffolding for my dad's crews as a part-time job. Whatever the reason, I found myself absolutely fascinated by the skyscrappers built of what from a distance looks like popsicle sticks, but upon closer inspection is in fact bamboo tied together by nimble Chinese labors scrammbling up and down without harness.

Its truly an amazing sight of modern engineering that an innovative and modern skyscape like Hong Kong's could be born from such a 19th century building technique!

As your scaffolding Guildford supplier may tell you, these impermanent structures can also be used to maintain existing buildings during refurbishment work or whilst repairs such as painting, guttering replacement or rendering are carried out. 365 China Photo: One-A-Day » Scary <b>Scaffolding</b>

Jan17_Scalfolding

I got up at 5am for an early flight to Jinjiang in Southern China. I had been there a few months earlier and was going back to meet another prospective new client. People often refer to Jinjiang as the “Brand City” as it claims to have the most brands headquartered in the town. The client took us to their new headquarters and factory, which was under construction. It was a huge and impressive building, but what I found interesting was the scaffolding. The builders were using steel scaffolding, but had used bamboo slats for the floor of the walkway. It looked a bit patchy and makeshift in places, but actually bamboo is one of the strongest natural materials. It is still used in Hong Kong and favoured over steel scaffolding for most developments even skyscrapers. I think what amazed me was the confidence of the workers to move around at such heights without much regard to safety. However, this is not uncommon in China, where health and safety conditions lag behind western regulations.

Bristol Traffic: Adventures in the <b>scaffolding</b> trade

Cycling down from Kingsland Road bridge, one can often see two fully laden scaffold trucks skillfully parked on double-yellow lines close to the junction with Sussex Street providing passing cyclists and drivers with an interesting and fun hazard to negotiate as they start the working day. In fact, this newly-assimilated length of pavement..er, sorry..truck stop... is becoming somewhat of a mecca to the scaffolding trade often attracting various species of scaffolder to the cafe across the street. Here we can see King Scaffolding occupying their traditional spot and they are often joined by Northgate Scaffolding for a bacon butty and a cuppa. Oddly enough, they don't seem to be using the rest of the road and pavement leading up to the brow of the hill, which could provide extra parking for the rest of the fleet.
Now, the scaffolding trade is a high risk occupation and health & safety are paramount. After all, you don't want your scaffolding to collapse due to a faulty joint, maybe in high winds, or anyone to fall off it. Scaffolders have to be focused, dedicated and follow those method statements and risk assessments to the letter. But when it comes to road safety, it's Bristol, so the couldn't-give-a-damn rule applies as usual. After all, there's a cuppa waiting across the street....

Feng Shui and Construction

In any given year, there will be areas of a building or house that are considered accident-prone. The word "sha" means negative influence. A "sha" can be something that offends any of the senses, such as something that you do not like to see, hear, smell, or feel. This is a partially subjective part of feng shui, but some things would be universally considered bad. The smell of something rancid is not going to be good for anyone. The sight of something broken down and ruined will not be pleasant for anyone.

The construction "sha" implies that during actual demolition or remodel, that whole area is precarious and accident-prone. The problems areas shift from year to year in different directions. There is a potential for something to go wrong if you were to remodel that section of your house or lot. There is also a potential to be effected adversely if the construction is going on very close to you, in the bad direction.

As an example, in 1999 there were two bad "sha" areas. One was in the South and the other in East. If you had a house torn down and a condominium being built on your street and it was aligned with the East section of your house, that could cause problems for you--and/or aggravate the East sector of your own house. If you were to remodel your own south quadrant (bathroom, kitchen, or bedroom as examples), then there would be a potential for things to go wrong. Why?

To tamper with the precarious direction is to initiate a change in a bad time cycle, with long lasting results. And in the immediate environment it is simply prone to accidents or delays.

We all know that construction is not the most pleasant thing to be around. It grates on our nerves with everything being so noisy, disheveled and dirty. And when it is occurring in our own home, there can be a whole host of inconveniences.

What's the remedy for the construction sha?

? Plan A is to avoid it altogether, post-pone it until the following year.
? If there is no way to post-pone it, or if it is out of your control (like a building on your street),
Then you must try to place METAL between you (your space) and the construction.
(Like a barrier, to absorb the precarious vibrations.)
? Stick a big copper pipe in the ground outside your house between you and the construction.
? Hang a wind chime from your roof, also aligned with the construction.
(This by the way, is one of the rare times that I recommend a wind chime.)
? Try to also buffer yourself from the sight and sound of it.
? Make sure that the area of your own house that could be affected, is properly remedied so that the construction sha does not bring out the worst in that area. As an example:
The direction of South is associated with the eyes and heart. If there is a construction sha
aligned with your south sector, it could contribute to YOU having problems with those parts of your body.
? For a commercial building, working in the accident-prone direction can cause delays, accidents, or fires in that very area. If there is a way to place a metal rod in the ground that will not get in the way of the construction, that is highly recommended to absorb the "sha" coming from that direction.

Ecobirder: A Monument to <b>Scaffolding</b>

While I was up in Duluth last weekend I stopped to take some pictures at Canal Park, see my earlier post. The lift bridge, that spans the canal, is currently under maintenance and I decided to take a picture of the impressive scaffolding.Maintenance on the bridge is being paid for under the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act, which was more commonly called TARP. The American Recovery & Reinvestment Act was very much maligned by many Republican politicians, here in Minnesota the big culprit was bat crazy congress critter Michelle Bachmann, however I have seen many of these signs in construction areas around highways and bridges. It is too bad that some politicians would rather play political games then provide people with jobs and safe roads and bridges. Safe bridges are kind of a big deal here in Minnesota, except with Michelle Bachmann who probably considers bridges as socialism, especially since one of the main bridges between St Paul and Minneapolis fell back in 2007.

Removal of <b>scaffolding</b> in Old City triggers slanted record of <b>...</b>

Mon. 17 Jan. 2011 @ 17.09 –

Refurbishment of holy site prompts one-sided account of Israeli ‘provocations’ in Jerusalem’s Old City.

Writing in The Independent on Friday, Catrina Stewart described the decision by municipal officials in Jerusalem to widen access a courtyard attached to the Western Wall as ‘a move that threatens to inflame tensions at one of the world’s most contested religious sites.’

Scaffolding in the courtyard, which is situated beneath Muslim residences, was removed to allow more worshippers access.

Stewart noted that Teddy Kollek, the former mayor of Jerusalem, was alleged to have rejected calls during his mayorship for the scaffolding to be cleared ‘because of the sensitivity of the site even though he acknowledged it was not needed to support the houses’:

‘His fears were not unfounded. In 1996, the Old City erupted in deadly clashes when Israel opened a tunnel leading to the complex of the Al Aqsa mosque. And it was then opposition leader Ariel Sharon’s visit to the site in 2000 to assert Israeli sovereignty there that triggered the Second Intifada, the mass Palestinian uprising.’

Along similar lines, Stewart described Palestinian concerns over the Temple Mount:

‘Some Palestinians still believe that the Jews intend to raze the mosques [on the Temple Mount] to make way for a Third Temple, which according to Jewish tradition will be built with the coming of the Messiah. Jewish groups have at times played on those insecurities, most recently with an advertising campaign that superimposed the Third Temple over the Al Aqsa mosque.’

While the article clearly gave prominent coverage to Israeli actions which are viewed by Palestinians as ‘an attempt by Israel to establish a dominant Jewish claim over the Old City’, Stewart does not make any reference to Palestinian attempts to deny the connection between Judaism and Jerusalem.

For example, no mention was made by the journalist of the recent controversy involving the Palestinian Authority publishing an official report that claimed that there were no Jewish ties to the Western Wall.

This is not surprising given that Catrina Stewart did not cover the publication of the report in November 2010, or its subsequent removal from the PA website following criticism from the US State Department.

See also: ‘Selective reporting on Western Wall’, on how The Guardian’s Harriet Sherwood ignored the PA report on the Western Wall while emphasising ‘illegal’ Israeli development plans.

Pardon Me For Asking: What&#39;s Up With <b>Scaffolding</b> At Raccuglia&#39;s <b>...</b>

IMG_7693IMG_7696IMG_7692IMG_7690Believe it or not, the scaffolding surrounding Raccuglia's Funeral home at 323 Court Street has been up for nearly 4 years. According to the NYC Department Of Building's web site, an application for the scaffolding was approved in May 2007. It has been renewed several times, but no work was ever performed on the place. Over the years, local residents have wondered what was up, like fellow blogger Brooks of Sheffield over at Lost City, who remarked on it in late 2007 and in 2008.And just a few days ago, I received an email from local residents J and J, who write:
Just was curious if you or any of your faithful readers know anything about the status of the scaffolding at Court and Sackett Sts surrounding Raccuglia's Funeral Home. My wife and I moved into the neighborhood over 4 years ago and there was only a short amount of time in which there was NOT unsightly scaffolding--and we have NEVER seen any work being done. Is it to protect funeral goers from the rain? More than anything, it seems to attract teenagers to gather and drink beneath it in the summer ...Thanks! J&J
Good question! What exactly is the issue with the building, and why would it take four years to address it? Not that a funeral parlor is ever a happy place, but surely, the scaffolding makes it look sadder than it has to be, no?
