SEA ISLE CITY -- Two construction workers were injured Thursday afternoon when the scaffolding they were working on collapsed beneath them.
Emergency personnel first got the call at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Thursday. Police say 32-year-old Eddie Velasquez and 24-year-old Marco Pacheco were working on an apartment house on the beach block of 81st street.
They say a chain holding up the scaffolding snapped, causing the two to fall over 20 feet.
They've been taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's trauma unit in Atlantic City where their conditions are still unknown at this time.
