Man Injured in Fall from <b>Scaffolding</b> | NBC Chicago

A man who fell a "considerable distance" from a scaffold Thursday afternoon in the North Side Rogers Park neighborhood was taken to the hospital in serious condition but is expected to be OK, officials said.

A 911 call was made shortly before 4 p.m. notifying police of a man who fell from scaffolding at a building on the 1300 block of West Birchwood Avenue, said Rogers Park District police captain Roger Whalen.

The man fell from an upper level of the scaffolding down to the first level.  Fire Media Affairs Chief Kevin MacGregor said the man was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston in serious condition.

Whalen said the victim suffered a broken rib and the injuries were not considered life threatening.
