Paper Plant <b>Scaffolding</b> Accident Kills 1, Injures Another | New <b>...</b>

A recent scaffolding accident fatally injured one and critically injured another after falling 30 feet from scaffolding at a paper plant in Wisconsin. According to reports, the fatal workplace accident was reported about 7 a.m. when the workers fell from "scissors-type" scaffolding at Hattiesburg Paper Co.

Accident reports detailed that after the two men fell from the scaffolding, the scaffolding collapsed on top of them. Following the scaffolding accident, both injured men were transported to St. Vincent Hospital. Accident reconstruction crews arrived on the scene following the accident. In addition, the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration have also started its own formal investigation into this scaffolding accident.

The two men were working on the scaffolding to perform routine electrical maintenance at the facility at the time of the accident. Following the accident, the company released the following statement, ""Faith Technologies and Hattiesburg Paper are committed to providing a safe work environment and are deeply saddened by the tragedy of this incident."

Following the accident, the identities of the two men were withheld from the public until their next of kin were notified. News reports detailed that federal worker safety records showed that Hattiesburg Paper or its affiliate Green Bay Converting was not involved in previous accidents.
