Firefighters warned people Friday in Beverly Grove to be careful as they pass a high-rise building because the scaffolding has begun to pull away.

The building, which is closed and vacant, is at 6317 Wilshire Blvd. About a dozen firefighters responded to the scene at 6:42 p.m. and are working to put the scaffolding back into place.

"They will be here until it all gets stabilized in order to prevent anyone from getting hurt," said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott.
